Spider-Man 4 will be filmed – at least in part – in London this summer and autumn, it has been revealed. But what it means for the plot of the film is not yet known.
The confirmation of London as a filming location came through a charity linked to Tom Holland, who plays Spidey in the MCU films, according to Collider. The Brothers Trust, a charity, has recently announced a raffle and it has as its first prize: “A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, Tom Holland, in London, on the movie set of Marvel’s Spider-Man 4.”
Additional details revealed that production will span the summer and autumn in London, and winners will be able to meet Holland on set. Certainly a prize many people will want to win.
Plot for Spider-Man 4?
Whether Spider-Man 4 will be set wholly or partly in London or England more generally isn’t clear. Movies are often filmed in England as there are a couple of famous movie studios in southeast England, but that doesn’t mean the resulting movie will be set there too.
As fans will remember, part of Spider-Man: Far From Home was set in London, where he had his showdown with Mysterio, so it is not impossible that Spidey could travel overseas again.
However, Marvel has been firmly tight-lipped about the plot for the new movie – neither it saying who is (or isn’t) returning for the new movie. Even Holland, who isn’t beyond letting details slip, has not let anything slip. Here is all we know about Spider-Man 4.
Tom Holland – busy man
Filming for Spider-Man 4 is in the middle of a busy time for Holland. Not only is he re-donning the famous mask for the MCU, he is also in a starring role in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic The Odyssey.
The Odyssey will be an adaptation of Homer’s Odyssey, one of the oldest forms of literature and an iconic Greek poem. Holland was the second big name actor to be confirmed as signed up to the project, after Matt Damon. Holland’s real-life partner, Zendaya, was confirmed soon after.
