Splinter Cell Remake
Since the widespread rumor: that the Splinter Cell remake has met a tragic end, fans have been holding their breath wondering if they will ever see Sam Fisher don his iconic night vision goggles again.
But the good news is that Ubisoft has been quietly working on the remake but never uttered anything regarding it. As per Insider Gaming, the remake is secretly operating under a secret codename “North”.
And they mentioned the release date, “Sources have suggested that a release date could come in 2026, but didn’t want to be held to that time frame.” What’s even more exciting here is that the Snowdrop Engine is being used in this makeover.
Surely the Splinter Cell is evolving from Unreal Engine 2.5. The Snowdrop Engine is also behind breathtaking titles like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and The Division 2.
So, isn’t just a remake It’s a rebirth, that will be offering improved graphics and gameplay. The remake was first announced in December 2021 and at that time Producer Matt West said that it was in “very earliest stages of development”.
He further added “As we’re building it from the ground up, we’re going to update it visually, as well as some of the design elements to match player comfort and expectations, and we are going to keep it linear like the original games,
Not make it open world,”. “The gameplay experience we are targeting is directly tied to what we want players to feel, to capture the essence back when we were all playing the original games.”
Ubisoft has hinted that more details will be out soon, but still, no one has heard anything from them. The wait may be long, but surely they are bringing up something spectacular.
