Starwars outlaws
  • Star Wars Outlaws was released on August 27.
  • The game has sold only one million copies in its first month.
  • Ubisoft plans to improve the state of the game through post-launch content.

Star Wars Outlaws was one of the most hyped games of 2024, as everyone was excited to try a new Star Wars game. However, even though it was released almost a month ago, the game has managed to sell only 1 million copies.

Star Wars Outlaws’ first month sales revealed

A few days ago, Ubisoft claimed that Star Wars Outlaws “underperformed.” The company talked about this in a release and subsequent conference call, where they mentioned that despite the game getting solid ratings and user reviews on First Party and Epic stores, the sales “proved softer than expected.”

At that time, Ubisoft did not share exactly how many copies had been sold or what their sales target was. However, according to a recent report from Insider Gaming, Star Wars Outlaws only sold 1 million copies in its first month.

For comparison, another recent Ubisoft title, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, sold five million copies in its first three months. On the other hand, the previous Star Wars game, Jedi: Fallen Order, sold eight million copies in three months.

How bad is it?

If you compare Star Wars Outlaws with these two games, the sales are extremely poor. This is mainly because players started facing several issues shortly after the game was released. Players also had different complaints about the gameplay, especially stealth.

Ubisoft did try to address as many issues as they could, but the word about how “poor” Star Wars Outlaws is had already spread like fire across social media, which led to many people not buying the game.

At the moment, Ubisoft does have plans to introduce post-launch content to the game. It = will also become available on Steam starting November 21. These might help boost the sales, but if the state of the game is not improved, nothing significant will happen.
