Starfield Shattered Space
  • Shattered Space is Starfield’s first expansion.
  • At the moment, more than 50% of the expansion’s reviews on Steam are negative.
  • Most negative reviews are about the lack of new ship parts, companions, and unique weapons.

Shattered Space is Starfield’s first expansion, which aims to give the game a fresh feel. But with reviews on Steam it is clearly not well received by players.

What the expansion offers

The Shattered Space expansion focuses on a new storyline that revolves around a new threat that has made its way into the city of Dazra on House Va’Ruun’s hidden homeworld. Your goal is to uncover details about this new threat and put an end to it.

The expansion tries to improve the Starfield experience by adding new factions, creatures, and bosses. There are also new weapons, armor, and equipment for you to unlock and use.

Fans are not happy

But while Bethesda wanted to improve the game’s popularity and increase its player base through the new expansion, the opposite has happened. This is because, on Steam, more than half of the reviews are negative.

Most reviewers talk about how the expansion has failed to add anything unique to the game. According to the reviews, the new weapons are just “re-skinned weapons,” and there’s nothing special about them. The bosses that have been added are also reskins of existing enemies, which has further disappointed players.

The expansion has also failed to add any new ship parts to the game or introduce new compansions that players could interact with. The overall story of Shattered Space is also pretty short, as it can be completed between 5 to 6 hours.

Because of all this, players are finding it difficult to understand how such a short expansion with a dry plot and nothing unique can cost half the price of the full game. But one thing is clear – the expansion has failed to increase Starfield’s popularity and has ended up making things worse for Bethesda.
