Critics say the series starts with some of the best premiere episodes in the MCU’s TV history, with heart-pounding action that justifies its R-rating. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are also praised for seamlessly reprising their roles Daredevil and Kingpin, with incredible performances.

While initial reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, the use of CGI in the show has been met with some minor criticism from some. Here’s a glimpse at some of the first reactions making their way online.
Daredevil: Born Again First Reactions
Chris Killian at ComicBook loved that the show “feels less grounded than the Netflix run, but more akin to the moodiness of the comics”, but also noted how the CGI felt rushed.
The first two episodes of #DaredevilBornAgain breathe a new, stylish energy into Daredevil that feels less grounded than the Netflix run, but more akin to the moodiness of the comics, which I personally loved. Prepare for a gut punch and avoid spoilers! (1/2) pic.twitter.com/xeYI0aaXtN

Liam Crowley at Screen Rant praised the episodes for their “edge of the seat energy” and called them the best MCU pilot so far.
#DaredevilBornAgain has the best pilot of any MCU series thus far, and it’s not close. Edge of seat energy w/ audible gasps throughout. Charlie & Vincent haven’t lost a step, Benson & Moorhead bring the sauce. Above all else, it’s EPISODIC. We *might* be back. @screenrant pic.twitter.com/ArVsHm0cJg

Eammon Jacobs at Business Insider notes that the CGI was awkward, but regardless was “a bloody delight”.
Pleased to say Daredevil: Born Again is brutally gripping and hurls a symphony of violence at the audience while perfectly capturing @Daredevil's essence as if he never left our screens. It's not perfect (with some awkward CGI) but it's a bloody delight. #DaredevilBornAgain pic.twitter.com/zSpTPeeqDy

Anthony Gagliardi, host of The Movie Podcast, told fans they’re in for a real treat and praised the lead actors for their show-stealing performances.
#DaredevilBornAgain is GRITTY, RUTHLESS & UNFORGIVINGLY BLOODY! Fans of the original series are in for a treat, echoing the first season’s intensity and rage. Cox & D’Onofrio still steal the show. Two episodes in, and all I can say is The Man Without Fear is BACK! pic.twitter.com/et080Jj93h

Daredevil: Born Again doubles down on the grit, brutality, and raw, bone-crunching action that made us fall in love with the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. Every punch hits harder, every shadow runs deeper, this is Daredevil at his absolute best.

Sean O’Connell at Cinema Blend said the opening sequence screams “this is just as brutal as Netflix” and the show is “Off to a GREAT start!”.
Holy Hell’s Kitchen! #DaredevilBornAgain opens with a lengthy, devastating sequence that screams, “This is just as brutal as Netflix.” From there, the 2 episodes lay out a layered story about cops, vigilantes, and guilt. What’s the plot of the show?

The official logline reads: “Matt Murdock (Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.”
Cox previously played the role of Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer turned crime fighter in the series, in Netflix’s Daredevil (2015–2018). He later appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022), and Echo (2024).
Along with Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Ayelet Zurer, Wilson Bethel, Vincent D’Onofrio and Jon Bernthal also return. Other cast members include Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva and Jeremy Earl.
Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Disney+ 4 March, 2025.
