Those who have been eagerly waiting for Assassin’s Creed Shadows to hit the market will be pleased to know that the game will reportedly get a co-op mode after launch.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows co-op mode in development
Assassin’s Creed Shadows was supposed to be one of the biggest video games of 2024. It was scheduled to be released on November 12 this year. Everyone was excited about it, as the next AC game would throw players into a 16th-century version of Japan. However, a few days ago, the game’s release was delayed to February 14, 2025, as Ubisoft wanted to polish the game further. This mainly happened because their recent game, Star Wars Outlaws, wasn’t a big success.
While this news was heartbreaking for Assassin’s Creed fans, there is something to lighten up the mood. According to Insider Gaming, Ubisoft is working on a co-op mode for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which will be added to the game sometime after its launch.
Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming confirmed through his sources that the co-op mode, codenamed LEAGUE, had been in development long before the game was delayed. So, it is highly unlikely that the co-op would also be delayed, considering it isn’t part of the “polishing” Ubisoft was talking about.
What will it offer?
At the moment, not much is known about the co-op mode and what it will offer, but players will most likely be able to complete missions while playing as Naoe and Yasuke together. As AC Shadows will offer a massive open world, exploring will become much more fun and easier thanks to the co-op mode.
We don’t know exactly when the co-op mode will arrive. However, Ubisoft might introduce it to the game through a future DLC. In any case, we’ll most likely hear more about it as the game’s official release approaches.
