The second and final season of Andor is coming to our screens next month, and a host of familiar faces will be returning for it – along with some new faces too.
Of all the Star Wars TV shows, Andor is one of the best rated. The show, which debuted in 2022, is a prequel to the 2016 film Rogue One – itself a prequel to Star Wars: A New Hope (1977). It follows Cassian Andor, a thief who becomes radicalised against the Galactic Empire, and explores the beginnings of the Rebel Alliance – and iconic faction in the history of the Star Wars universe.
Season two drops on Disney+ in April and is highly anticipated – here is everything we know about Andor season two. But which characters will be returning for it?
Andor characters season two – heroes
Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna)
Let’s start with the obvious one. Cassian Andor is back. While Andor started out as a thief, who wanted to get enough money to get his loved ones away from the Empire, he ended up part of the nascient rebellion against it. Season two will explore more how he becomes the fundamental member of the Rebel Alliance – something that was seen in Rogue One.
Luthen Rael (Stellen Skarsgard)
Luthen Rael was introduced in season one. While he poses as a mild-mannered antique store owner, he is revealed to be working alongside Mon Mothma to oppose the Empire and bring together those who want to rebel against them.
Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly)
Mon Mothma is a well-established Star Wars character, having been first seen in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Since then, she has appeared in Rogue One, Star Wars: Revels and Ahsoka, as well as Andor.
While she was a senator, Mothma was secretly conspiring against them. Season one of Andor explored some of this, with season two set to go more into how she brings together the Rebel Alliance.
Bix Caleen (Adria Arjona)
Bix Caleen grew up with Andor on their home planet. As adults, they remain close friends, and she is one of the few people Andor trusts. In season one, she was captured by the Empire and tortured to reveal Andor’s whereabouts. But Andor managed to smuggle her out of Ferrix at the end of the last season, and she will return for season two.
Andor characters season two – villains
Syril Karn (Kyle Soller)
While Syril Karn starts off as a straight-laced deputy inspector of a security company, a series of murders leads him to pursue Andor and he becomes dedicated to capturing him.
During season one, Karn’s career takes off and he starts to rise up the ranks of the Imperial Security Bureau. In season two, Karn seeks to continue his career development – trying to boost it by capturing Andor.
Dedra Meero (Denise Gough)
Part of the Imperial Security Bureau, it is Dedra Meero that realises that the various insurrections happening against the Empire are linked, and that they are being coordinated by a group of rebels.
In season two, Meero continues her investigations into the rebels, putting Andor, Rael and Mothma on her radar.
