A new era of dinosaur-based content is edging closer and will start with Jurassic World Rebirth.
Set for release later this year, director Gareth Edwards’ film will serve as the seventh instalment of a franchise that started with Steven Spielberg’s 1993 game-changer Jurassic Park. That film spawned two direct sequels, including 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park and 2001’s Jurassic Park 3.

From there, a few years passed before a new trilogy took the Jurassic Park story to exciting new places. 2015’s Jurassic World introduced us to Chris Pratt’s raptor whisperer Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard’s ex-company suit Claire Dearing.
They stuck around for two sequels, including 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion.

Jurassic World Rebirth Cast
Set years after the last film, Jurassic Park Rebirth will introduce us to a group of animal experts tasked with a top-secret mission that could save humanity.
While embarking on their journey, these pros cross paths with a group of civilians. Here’s what we know about the movie’s key players.
Scarlett Johannson – Zora Bennett
Johannson will lead the Jurassic World Rebirth cast, starring as a character named Zora Bennett. The role has been described as a covert operations expert who must locate the three largest remaining dinosaur species and extract their DNA. If she does, it can help create a medicine that could save lives worldwide.
“She’s looking for meaning in her life after leaving the military,” Edwards told Empire in late 2024, “and this opportunity comes along where [after it] basically she’d never have to work again. But through that journey, she starts to question the ethical rights and wrongs of what they’re doing.”
Jonathan Bailey – Dr. Henry Loomis
Bridgerton and Wicked star Jonathan Bailey will play Dr. Henry Loomis, a palaeontologist tasked with helping Bennett on her dino-DNA mission. He was glimpsed during a recently revealed image holding what appears to be a dinosaur egg.
Little else is known about Loomis but Bailey recently discussed joining the franchise while promoting Wicked. “The original film was a seminal cinematic moment, purely because of Jeff, but also, I went with my family, and the multi-sensory experience of going to see a film so perfectly realized,” he said, referencing his Wicked co-star and original Jurassic Park star Jeff Goldblum.
He played Chaos Theory expert Dr. Ian Malcolm alongside Laura Dern’s Ellie Sattler and Sam Neill’s Alan Grant.
“There’s so much that I am so proud to join. But obviously, much like with ‘Wicked,’ there is a sense of responsibility. And if I can match half of what Jeff and Sam Neill and Laura Dern achieved, I’ll be very lucky.”
Mahershala Ali – Duncan Kincaid
Moonlight star Mahershala Ali will play Duncan Kincaid, Bennet’s most trusted team leader.
Not much has been revealed about his character but judging by a recently released image showing Kincaid holding a flare and looking scared, we’re not sure how he’ll hold up around so many prehistoric beasts.
Rupert Friend – Martin Krebs
Dinos aside, every Jurassic Park story needs a human villain and it looks like Rupert Friend could be playing the one in Jurassic World Rebirth. Martin Krebs is a representative from a pharmaceutical company – an industry that isn’t exactly known for its lack of sleaze.
Looks like Big Pharma could soon be meeting big lizards.
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono and Adrian Miranda
As mentioned above, Bennett, Loomis and Kincade cross paths with a family during their quest – one that will be played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono and Adrian Miranda.
Garcia-Rulfo will play patriarch Reuben Delgado, with Blaise playing his eldest daughter Iacono as his son and Miranda as the family’s youngest.
As for how the Delgado family fit into the overall plot, the film’s official synopsis sheds some light on that question.
“The team crosses paths with a civilian family whose boating adventure was overturned by roving aquatic dinosaurs, leaving them all stranded on an island where they must confront a terrifying, ominous revelation that has been kept secret from the world for decades.”
Additional castmembers
The film will also include appearances from a trio of additional characters, although character details are harder to track down than someone lost in a prehistoric amusement park.
Deadpool actor Ed Skrein will reportedly play a member of Bennett’s team alongside Bechir Sylvain. Station Eleven star Philippine Velge will also appear but her cast details are currently unknown.
