20 January marks a new chapter for America as it is Trump’s Presidential Inauguration Day. The president will serve his second presidential term after winning the election in November. He won the vote in 2016 and served his presidency until 2020 when Joe Biden took over.

Fast forward four years and at 12pm EST, the President will be sworn in again. The Inauguration Day schedule is packed with events and entertainment, and no doubt the president will have some performers on hand to welcome him in.

Who is performing at the Presidential Inauguration?

Singer Carrie Underwood is one of America’s country sweethearts. Underwood came to fame after winning American Idol in 2005. She will be one of the first to perform, singing America The Beautiful before Trump gets sworn in and takes his oath.

The performance will be alongside The Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club, according to CBS News.

The announcement caused a backlash after the news broke that she’d perform at Trump’s inauguration.

In a statement to Billboard, she said: “I love our country and I’m honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event”.

Christopher Macchio

We know that Christopher Macchio will perform the national anthem at Trump’s inauguration. Macchio is an American opera singer who is a member of the New York Tenors. He has released two studio albums and he specializes in classical crossover music. His musical contribution will be at the end of the ceremony. The singer is openly Republican and has performed at the 2024 Republican Convention.

Lee Greenwood

Lee Greenwood is no stranger to performing for Trump and will perform at the inauguration. Greenwood is a country music singer-songwriter and a saxophonist. He performed last night at a Trump victory rally. Previously he has performed at the 2017 inauguration and the 2024 Republican National Convention.

Bands and Choir performances

A smaller part of the ceremony will feature performances from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln choirs and The United States Marine Band.

Who has already performed ahead of Trump’s inauguration?

Many more performers have already performed to celebrate President Trump at other inauguration events. On Sunday, Kid Rock, The Village People, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Liberty University’s Praise Choir performed.

On Monday night at the Liberty Ball, the celebration after Trump’s inauguration, there will be more performances.

The Village People are set to make another return after their YMCA performance on Sunday. YMCA has become one of Trump’s favorite songs for his campaigns.

Jason Aldean, country band Rascal Flatts, Parker McCollum, and Gavin DeGraw will also perform.

Rascal Flatts’ lead singer Gary Levox confirmed the band would perform in an Instagram post.

Cox said: “I am so humbled and honored and grateful for the opportunity again to play the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States. I got to play it in 2016 and now Rascal Flatts will be performing at the Commander’s Ball and I am so looking forward to it!”

Is Snoop Dog performing at Trump’s Inauguration?

Snoop Dogg faced backlash for performing at a ceremony celebrating Trump’s inauguration, although his performance wasn’t a part of the inauguration schedule or an official performance.

On Friday, Instagram gossip page The Shade Room posted footage of the rapper performing at the event, resulting in online backlash.

The event in question was The Crypto Ball hosted by former PayPal COO Crypto Czar. Other artists also faced backlash for performing at inauguration-related events.

Nelly’s backlash

Nelly is also reported to perform at Trump’s inauguration ball on Monday night. The rapper faced backlash for his decision. However, the Hot in Herre singer stood firm on his decision. Criticism was dismissed by him. The father of five said it is “an honor for me to perform for the president of the United States, regardless of who is in office”.

Nelly also said his decision to perform at the inauguration was “not political”.

The 50-year-old did a livestream with rapper Willy D on Sunday. On the live stream, he said: “This is not me telling you, ‘Yo, you should vote for this candidate.’ I think you should do your homework and figure out what best helps you and the people who you love and provide for because I’m clueless on a lot of things when it gets down to it”.
