Ready to meet the Devourer of Worlds again? A first look trailer at the new Fantastic Four film has offered a glimpse of the comic book villain. If you’re a fan of the comic books, you might appreciate the direction taken.
Fantastic Four: First Steps is the franchise’s second reboot, arriving ten years after a grittier remake that failed to set the box office alight. The Last Of Us star Pedro Pascal stars as the new Reed Richards AKA Mister Fantastic while The Crown’s Vanessa Kirby would play Invisible Woman Sue Storm.

Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn was confirmed as Human Torch Johnny Storm, with The Bear’s Ebon Moss-Bachrach becoming Ben Grimm AKA The Thing.
As the release date draws nearer, Marvel’s let us have a closer look at the film. The latest teaser offers a glimpse of Galactus – or rather, his shadow hovering over New York.
This new version of Galactus is much more similar to the one in the comic book. He’s even got his signature helmet on with the two side pieces visible in his shadow.
In comparison, the Galactus in 2007’s Rise of the Silver Surfer took the form of a giant purple space cloud.
Who is playing Galactus?
Ralph Ineson is taking on the role for the new film. He recently appeared on screen in Nosferatu and has also voiced characters in video games from the Assasin’s Creed, Diablo and Final Fantasy franchises.
How he might be presented is a different matter. For one, it could be that he is in the film in purely a voice over capacity. However, he could appear more physically like how Mark Ruffalo plays Hulk or Josh Brolin plays Thanos.
What else do we know about Fantastic Four: First Steps?
Marvel issued an official synopsis for The Fantastic Four: First Steps in November 2024. Their announced confirmed a few things we believed to be true about its plot.
“Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet.
“Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.”
