We almost got a version of The White Lotus where a member of The Hunger Games cast was part of a couple with a star of Sex Education. Woody Harrelson ended up turning down a role in The White Lotus and has now explained his reasons why.
Harrelson was supposed to play Rick, or potentially his friend Frank. Those roles went to Walter Goggins and Sam Rockwell respectively when the cameras started rolling.
There was previously speculation that Harrelson had backed out over producer David Bernad’s rule that all cast members’ salaries be the same.

Harrelson has since given a statement to The Daily Beast, clearing things up.
“I was set to do The White Lotus and very excited,” he said.
“Unfortunately, their production schedule shifted, and conflicted with a pre-planned family vacation, forcing me to make an extremely hard decision.
“Things must be meant to be though because I couldn’t have done as fantastic a job as Sam, who is killing it.”
Is season 4 happening?
Now that season 3 has finished, fans are wondering when we’ll next head back to one of The White Lotus resorts somewhere in the world.
Season 4 has had the green light already. While details are thin on the ground, but according to Variety, production for The White Lotus season 4 will begin in 2026. As such, given past timelines between seasons, it could hit our screens in 2027.

So far, producers have already started exploring their options for settings. Chances are, we could end up going to either Africa or Latin America next time.
“Right now, it’s looking like the next season of The White Lotus will be shot in Egypt or Mexico,” a source told Parade. “They want to pick somewhere they haven’t shot yet, so a new continent. They want to go somewhere completely new since this season is in Asia, which is why they’re between the two. The decision should be made soon.”
What else are people talking about?
Rather a lot, unsurprisingly. The new theme tune has divided fans, for example, while numerous other debates are ongoing.

Walton Goggins has had to defend the age-gap relationship between his character Rick and Chelsea (Aimee Lou-Wood). The most controversial subplot, however, was undoubtedly the incest storyline with Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger) and Lochlan Ratliff (Sam Nivola).
