Now that it’s proven itself as an unlikely box-office success, A Minecraft Movie sequel feels inevitable and fans are asking the same question: will Alex appear?
Directed by Jarred Hess, A Minecraft Movie hit cinemas on Friday 4 April. It stars Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Jason Momoa, Emma Myers and Sebastian Hansen, transporting each to a colorful video game-inspired world.

Hess made the movie for a budget of around $150 million. Despite lukewarm reviews, the film has emerged as a huge box office hit. In its opening weekend alone, the film clocked up receipts of around $313.7 million at the worldwide box office – and it continues to break records.
In Hollywood, success usually means one thing – sequels – and with so many flocking to see A Minecraft Movie, a follow-up from Warner Bros. feels like an inevitably.

Its director has offered his thoughts on the situation – and it’s good news for fans.
Will Alex be in A Minecraft Movie 2?
Hess is well aware of the fact that A Minecraft Movie will likely get a follow-up and he’s excited to explore this world further.
Speaking to Deadline, he said “it would be so much fun,” before adding that introducing Alex into the Minecraft cinematic universe is definitely on his agenda.

“Oh, man. Well, it would be so much fun. We had so much fun making this movie, and it’s such an expansive world in the game, and there were so many things that we didn’t tap into that we wanted to,” Hess told the outlet.
“I would have a blast doing the sequel, and it seems like there’s already talk about it happening, so I’m super excited. It’ll be so much fun to go back into the world. The fans are just having such a good time.

“We teased it in the end credits, and the fans seem to be going wild for it.”
Those who have seen the film will know that Alex appears briefly during the post-credits scene. However, the identity of the actor playing her remains unknown.
Who is Alex in Minecraft?
For those unfamiliar with the Minecraft world, Alex is the other primary character in the game.
She’s joined by Steve, a mining-obsessed guy who’s played by Black in Hess’s movie.
The character is known for her red hair and green outfit.
