After five years of dating, NBA star Kyle Kuzma has proposed to his girlfriend, model Winnie Harlow, over Valentine’s Weekend.

Kuzma, 29, and Harlow, 30, shared the news with a joint Instagram post, sharing a carousel of snaps and a video of their engagement night. The photos show the happy couple on a private plane that’s been decorated with red roses. Harlow is seen proudly showing off a dazzling diamond ring.
The Proposal
The couple shared all the details of the intimate proposal with Vogue. They were heading on vacation to the Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean. Kuzma filled the plane with red roses, balloons, chocolate and champagne, which Harlow just assumed was a romantic gesture. But the Milwaukee Bucks player had grander ideas. He read her a poem he had written and asked her to marry him, as he gave her an 8.5-carat, oval-cut diamond ring.

He spent three months designing the ring himself, telling Vogue “I never really asked her what type of ring she liked or anything. I just wanted to draw a picture of what I felt resembled her – something that was elegant, but very timeless and simplistic at the same time.”
More Surprises
Kuzma also flew Harlow’s loved ones out to the Turks and Caicos to be a part of the special moment. In the video they posted, Harlow’s family appear poolside at their villa, much to her delight and surprise. A DJ can be heard playing Let’s Get Married by Jagged Edge and dinner was also set up on the beach.
After a surf and turf dinner, Kuzma had one last surprise in store for his fiancé. A fireworks display.
“We’re over the moon,” Harlow told Vogue.
