- 2K Games look set to make Roman Reigns the face of WWE 2K25
- WWE 2K25 will be the first cover for Reigns since 2019
- Teaser for the new game was aired after Reign’s Tribal Combat match on Raw’s Netflix debut

Roman Reigns has not only returned to the Head of the Table, but also to the front cover of the WWE 2K franchise, with WWE 2K25.
Or, at least, that’s how it appears.
While 2K Games are yet to officially unveil anything to do with the latest instalment of their long running sports entertainment based franchise, the teaser they aired following The Tribal Chief’s victory in Tribal Combat over his younger cousin, Solo Sikoa, on Monday Night Raw last week pointed in the direction of the former WWE Champion’s return to the front cover.
The last time Reigns was 2K’s cover star was 2019, when he shared the honours with Becky Lynch.
The newly re-anointed Tribal Chief, Ula Fala and all, is accompanied by his Wiseman, WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman in the video, with the former ECW owning evil genius rattling off a list of Reigns’ accomplishments, before asking the Grand Slam champion when he can schedule a time in the Tribal Chief’s calendar for the world to acknolwedge his achievements. Reigns simply answers, “January 27” before entering his dressing room, closing the door behind him to reveal a “WWE 2K25” sign.
WWE 2K24, which came out last year to widespread acclaim, dropped in March of 2024, meaning that, while Reigns’ likely cover unveil will be happening on the aforementioned January 27, the game itself will probably not be too far behind, likely being released on the road to WrestleMania 41, in Las Vegas.
Since Reigns was last on the cover of a 2K game, Rey Mysterio, John Cena and current WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes have graced the front of 2K’s long-running pro wrestling series, which they have been releasing year-after-year (with a COVID-19 related pause in 2020 and 2021) since 2013.
It will be interesting to see what the theme of this year’s edition will be, with 2024’s opting to showcase the history of WrestleMania ahead of last year’s 40th instalment of WWE’s Showcase of the Immortals, in Philadelphia. Cover star Cody Rhodes’ ‘Finish The Story’ arc was leant into as part of the marketing campaign and was highly effective in drawing attention to the release, with Rhodes finally finishing his story and becoming WWE Champion for the first time, defeating the man who is set to become this year’s face of the franchise.
And, speaking of WWE 2K24, who can forget the incredible DLC tribute pack to ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt’s final incarnation, which the man himself tragically never had the chance to portray on WWE television before his untimely passing in 2023.
As for January 27, it cannot come soon enough.
