Demi Moore is one of the most recognisable faces in Hollywood. Recently, she has been having a bit of a moment thanks to her starring role in The Substance. The Cannes 2024 breakout was notable for its handling of themes like ageing, fame, and sexism through graphic body horror.
After getting her start in soaps, Moore eventually became one of the shiniest stars of the 80s. After cementing her fame in the Brat Pack, she maintained her career with a string of blockbuster hits.
After missing out on her first ever Oscar nod to the Best Actress winner Mikey Madison in March, Moore was recently graced the cover of PEOPLE magazine’s World’s Most Beautiful issue.

Demi Moore says the ‘pain’ of ‘giving birth’ helped her cope with other life’s challenges
Moore has three grown daughters, Rumour, Scout and Talulah, with her ex Bruce Willis. She attributes welcoming them as giving her more fortitude in all elements of her life.
“Giving birth is one of the only times that you can 100 per cent know that pain is bringing you a gift and when you can apply that to other things, you start to see that that is a truth of all things that are difficult,” she said.
She knows her looks don’t define her
Despite wowing on many a red carpet, Moore has gotten to grips with the notion that her outside doesn’t determine her insides or worth.
“I have a greater appreciation for all that my body has been through that brought me to now,” the GI Jane star told the outlet. “It doesn’t mean that sometimes I look in the mirror and don’t go, ‘Oh God, I look old,’ or ‘Oh, my face is falling’ — I do. But I can accept that that’s where I’m at today, and I know the difference today is that it doesn’t define my value or who I am.”

Demi Moore thinks ‘beauty’ comes from self-acceptance and truth
Moore mused on the nature of “beauty” and how it comes from “authenticity and positivity” and finding “comfort in being exactly who you are.”

She’s really proud of her relationship with her ex Bruce Willis
Moore tied the knot with the Die Hard star in 1987. Despite divorcing in 2000, they have managed to maintain a great friendship.
“That regardless of what the outside relationship has been, we have maintained being a family in various forms. The foundation of making our children our priority has never wavered,” the Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle star said.
She has even been outspoken about caring for the actor after he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2022.
The Substance was a hit because of how it depicted our inner critic
The 62-year-old reflected that the 2024 Oscar-nominated horror film was such a cultural phenomenon because of how it represented self-loathing.
“I think the thing that was so relatable is really that violence we can against ourselves,” Moore told the magazine
She would tell her younger self to ‘be fearless’ and her older self to ‘take care’ of herself
Moore would tell her teenage age self “to take risks. And be fearless. And that it’s okay to make mistakes.”
For her 80-year-old self, she would tell them would be “take care of us.”
