It’s not just fans that get in on the fun either; Spotify also delivers similar stats to music producers, bands and artists. This shows them how much listener time they’ve clocked up in the past year.
However, the key to Spotify Wrapped’s success is its shareability. The app actively encourages you to post your musical tastes on social media platforms like Instagram – and that’s exactly what people do.

When does Spotify stop tracking for Wrapped 2024?
As it stands, we’re still in the dark about when Spotify stops tracking for Wrapped 2024. This is largely due to a recently revealed change to the way they collect user data.
Traditionally, Spotify Wrapped stopped tracking your data on 31 October each year. This means your annual taste round-up isn’t technically an accurate reflection of your full year in music, as the app didn’t count anything you listened to in November or December.
However, this changed in 2024. In late October, Spotify issued a social media post telling its users that this year, “Spotify doesn’t stop counting on October 31.”
Unfortunately, they didn’t provide an update on when they do stop counting.

Shortly afterwards, some users reported seeing an in-app update letting them know that “2024 is almost a wrap” and asking them to “update the app to get wrapped ready.”
With Spotify Wrapped 2024 due out any day now, it’s likely that its data collection window has closed although this is yet to be officially confirmed by the streamer.
When is Spotify Wrapped 2024 released?
Spotify Wrapped 2024 doesn’t have a release date but it could be set to drop any day now.
In previous years, Spotify delivered Wrapped to users in early December but this has crept earlier and earlier. For example, 2018’s Spotify Wrapped landed on 8 December while 2021 and 2023’s arrived on 30 November.
If this trend continues, it’s likely we’ll all get our Spotify Wrapped 2024 data within the next couple of weeks before November comes to a close.
