Netflix are officially in full blown WWE hype mode.

With a little over a month to go before WWE programming drops on the streaming giant’s platform, Netflix have released the first teaser trailer for the incoming $5 billion worth of content they’ve committed to for, potentially, the next 10 years at least.

In the United States, the promotion’s weekly flagship show, Monday Night Raw, will air exclusively on Netflix, taking the show off cable for the first time in its 31 year history. Premium Live Events (WWE speak for Pay-Per-Views) and the extensive WWE library will remain on Peacock for the time being in the US, but will be available on Netflix in non-US territories along with SmackDown (USA Network in the US) and NXT (CW). And, of course, that seemingly endless library includes WCW, ECW and various promotions from the old territory system.

While the 40 second teaser doesn’t give too much away in terms of what other original WWE content we may see on the platform, it does sufficiently whet the appetite for what is guaranteed to be a monumental first Monday Night Raw on Netflix, on January 6, 2025.

No matches may have been announced as of yet, but John Cena has confirmed himself for the show, kicking off his yearlong retirement tour that will take in between 30-40 dates throughout 2025. Not only that, but rapper Travis Scott will be in the house at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, having been invited by Triple H at Complex Con, last week. Scott, who was confirmed for Coachella this week, will also be providing the new theme tune for Raw.

If promotional materials are anything to go by, then WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes will be showing up, alongside long-time Roman Reigns and one half of WWE’s Women’s Tag Team Champions, Bianca Belair (presumably alongside her tag partner Jade Cargill).

And of course, it’s hard to ignore that flash of The Final Boss at the end of the trailer. Just in time for WrestleMania season kicking off.
