It’s already one of the most talked about movies of the next few years.
And we’re sure that Wuthering Heights won’t disappoint.
The new adaptation is being written and directed by Emerald Fennell – the brains behind movies such as Saltburn and Promising Young Woman.
Fennell already has a star-studded cast behind the film – as well as the backing of a famous face’s production company.
But when will fans be able to watch Wuthering Heights in theaters, and what is the movie actually about? Pubity.com has all the details…
When will Wuthering Heights be released?
Brontë fans, rejoice – because we finally have a release date for Wuthering Heights!
The movie will hit theaters on February 13, 2026 – just in time for Valentine’s Day.
What is Wuthering Heights about?
Based on the 1847 novel by Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights is a tale of love, jealousy and morality.
Taking place on the West Yorkshire moors, the plot revolves around two families of the landed gentry, the Earnshaws and the Lintons, and their turbulent relationships with the Earnshaws’ foster son, Heathcliff.
The novel, influenced by Romanticism and Gothic fiction, is considered a classic of English literature.
Who will star in Wuthering Heights?

Jacob Elordi – who also starred in Fennell’s 2023 movie, Saltburn – will play Heathcliff, while Barbie actor Margot Robbie will take on the role of his lover, Catherine ‘Cathy’ Earnshaw. Robbie will also be producing the film, through her company, LuckyChap.
Playing Elordi’s sister in Saltburn, Alison Oliver will this time be his onscreen wife, Isabella Linton. Shazad Latif, who starred opposite Lily James in the rom-com What’s Love Got to Do with It? will portray Isabella’s brother and Cathy’s husband, Edgar; and Oscar nominee Hong Chau (Downsizing, The Whale) has reportedly taken the part of one of the film’s narrators, Nelly Dean.
However, Elordi’s casting hasn’t been without controversy – as many fans believe the role should have gone to a person of color.
Young casting news
On 7 March, it was announced who would play young Heathcliff and Catherine. Owen Cooper, who is starring in the upcoming limited series Adolescence is playing a teenage Heathcliff. Charlotte Mellington, who has recently been starring in the West End production of the Matilda musical is playing a teenage Catherine Earnshaw.
The two young stars will be playing younger versions of Robbie and Elordi.
