IShowSpeed, who has gone viral numerous times this year, has been named as Streamer of the Year – one of three awards he won at the Streamer Awards 2024.

Streamer of the Year

In addition to Streamer of the Year, IShowSpeed was named as Best International Streamer and won the Get Off Your A** Award, which recognizes the best IRL streamers.

As you might expect, IShowSpeed celebrated his big win with a trademark back flip. “This award means a lot to me,” he said in his victory speech. “I really fell in love with this game of streaming. Streaming really allows me to express myself in so many ways and show who I am.

“The passion I have for streaming and the love that I have for streaming… I’m no going to stop. This award? There’s more to come.”

Meanwhile Kai Cenat was the other big winner at the Streamer Awards 2024, also taking home three awards. He took home awards for Best Steamed Collab, Best Just Chatting Streamer and Best Marathon Stream.

Stellar year

It has been a stellar year for IShowSpeed – real name Jason Watkins Jr – who has gone wildly viral on several occasions for his stunts. For instance, he went viral – and to hospital – when he took part in a bizarre cheese chasing contest in Gloucestershire, England. He, along with tens of others, chased a cheese down a steep hill. Despite falling and injuring himself, he said he would definitely do it again.

Then in July he went viral with a clip of him in a strange bark-off with Crawly, the green wizard gnome, in Poland at the Euro 24 football tournament. IShowSpeed starts barking at Crawly, who barks right back, leading to an increasingly loud bark-off, eagerly captured by onlookers on their phones. What was the point? Who knows. Did it boost their popularity? Yes.

Having taken their streaming content to new levels in 2024, we wait with interest to see what IShowSpeed and Kai Cenat do in 2025.
