Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is a hugely anticipated film, but what is the plot for it and when will it be in theaters? Here is all we know.
When Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse hit theaters in 2023, it was a huge box office hit, taking more than $690 million at the global box office. It also left the action on a cliffhanger, with fans eager to see how the story continues.
In Across the Spider-Verse, Miles Morales’ version of Spider-Man comes up against versions of Spider-Man from a huge number of different universes.
The third in the trilogy was already in production, titled Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, and was given a release date of March 29, 2024. However, in the wake of the Hollywood writers and actors strike in 2023, that date was scrapped.
Thankfully, the film has now secured a release date and is on track to hit screens.
When is Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse coming out?

Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider Verse is set to hit screens on 4 June 2027. The news was confirmed at CinemaCon in Las Vegas in late March 2025.

Of course, being the internet, where there are no facts, speculation quickly fills the void. In September, it was claimed that Sony had “scrapped most” of what had already been made due to creative reasons. It was also said that it was now unlikely that the film would be released before 2027. But two people working on the film quickly took to social media to deny these claims.
More recently, Miles G Morales’ voice actor, Jharrel Jerome, has said he hasn’t started recording any of his parts yet. This suggests that the movie is still some way off being finished.
Another factor is that due to the animation styles used in the films, it takes a long time to produce each movie.
Who is in the voice cast?

What is the plot of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse?
Again, information here is limited as nobody connected to the film is giving anything away.
But what we do know is that it will pick up the action from the end of Across the Spider-Verse. Note: Spoiler alert for Across the Spider-Verse ahead!
At the end of Across the Spider-Verse, Miles ends up in Earth-42 – not Miles’ Earth – where New York is crime-ridden due to there being no Spider-Man. On Earth-42, Miles is the Prowler, who restrains his self from another Earth. Meanwhile, on Earth-1610, the Spot prepares to attack. Gwen teams up with various iterations of Spidey to try and find Miles.
