- Rumors emerged that there were big problems with the third Spider-Verse film
- But two people involved in the making of the film have hit back at the claims
- Original planned release date for the film was scrapped in 2023

A producer on the upcoming Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse movie has denied reports that most of what has been already made has been scrapped.
The InSneider claimed on Monday that Sony had “scrapped most” of what had already been made for the hugely anticipated third film in the franchise. This was down to creative reasons, the report claimed. It was also said that it was now unlikely that the film would be released before 2027.
Firm denial
However, two people working on the film, producer Chris Miller and composer Daniel Pemberton have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to deny the reports.
“Nothing has been scrapped,” Miller posted. “The reels are coming along nicely.”
Meanwhile Pemberton said: “Don’t really ever want to weigh in on this sort of stuff BUT would you ever believe there could sometimes be stuff on the internet that might not always be particularly accurate? Hmmmm…”
Lack of information
But there have been various rumors about the film on social media recently. This is in part down to a lack of information coming out of the studio. The film was originally slated to be released on March 29, 2024 but Sony pulled that date from its calendar in July 2023. At the time, Variety reported that this was down to the voice cast not being able to complete recording in time for the planned opening because of the SAG-AFTRA strike. However, since then – and months after the end of the strike – no new release date has been announced.
Meanwhile, the Spider-Verse was confirmed to be expanding earlier this year, with the commissioning of a series featuring Spider-Noir, a version of Spidey set in the 1930s with a hard-boiled film noir aesthetic. Nicholas Cage will star as the web-slinger.
