Wicked Part 2 won’t hit our screens until November 2025 – but fans will be eager to hear that the movie has been given its official title.

That’s right – although Wicked Part 1 is currently playing in theaters across the globe, fans can’t wait until next year to find out what happens to Elphaba and Glinda in Oz.

Posting from their Instagram accounts, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande – who play Elphaba and Glinda in the adaptation of the Broadway musical – shared the official title for the second movie, alongside director Jon M. Chu.

The film has been named Wicked: For Good – in a nod to the duet sung by the two leading actors, as they discuss how their relationship has changed both their lives.

Fans react to Wicked Part 2 title

Of course, fans were quick to react to the news.

“This is definitely worth waiting a year for. I’m getting my outfit ready now!” wrote one keen fan in the Instagram comments, while another added, “I’M STILL RECOVERING FROM PART ONE.”

Others got tearful.

“This title, oh I’M SOBBING,” said one. Someone else continued, “It’s literally a title and I already cried a little.”

“Just the name already got me choked up,” wrote a third.

Many branded the name as “perfection”.

“This title was the perfect choice,” they said. “I speak for everyone when I say we will ALL be watching.”

Some made reference to the now infamous ‘holding space’ interview that Grande and Erivo partook in on the Wicked Part 1 press tour.

“Screaming, crying, holding space,” joked one user, while another added, “Holding SPACE FOR THIS IN 2025.”

And even Grande’s family couldn’t resist joining in with the excitement.

“I’m so happy I could melt!” her brother Frankie wrote, referencing Elphaba’s song The Wizard and I.
