- According to Mescal, the secret could be in reality TV…

Paul Mescal is climbing the ranks as one of Hollywood’s elite.
But just how does an Oscar-nominated actor unwind?
The Irish star, 28, has revealed he loves to watch reality TV – specifically, The Traitors.
The show, which first aired in the UK before being adapted in a celebrity version for the US, shows a small group of contestants who become Traitors and must work together to eliminate the other contestants.
The remaining contestants are known as Faithfuls, and are tasked to discover and banish the Traitors by voting them out.
Whichever set of contestants is successful will win a grand prize – and it turns out that Mescal is a huge fan!
“The Traitors – the U.K. one,” Mescal told W magazine when asked if he had a favorite reality show. “It’s highly stressful, highly entertaining. Great to see the kind of psychological warfare that goes on. And the manipulation is second to none.”
Paul Mescal ‘lied’ to get job on Normal People

During the same interview, Mescal was asked if he had ever lied to book a role – to which he confessed he had said he could drive for Normal People, when he could not.
The actor played Connell Waldron in the hit Hulu series, which followed his character’s relationship with Marianne Sheridan – portrayed by Daisy Edgar-Jones – from their school days to young adulthood.
“We’d signed the paperwork, I’d gotten the part, and then I’d forgotten about doing my driver’s license,” Mescal explained. “So I ended up doing Normal People on a provisional license. I could only drive the car if there was a fully licensed driver beside me.”
An easy mistake to make…
Paul Mescal says he ‘hates’ laziness

And Mescal also opened up about his ‘pet peeves’ – habits or traits in other people that succeed in riling him.
“Laziness. I hate people who waste time, people who aren’t prepared,” he admitted. “And I’m not just talking about a work context. It’s like, I think I’ve got a good nose for when people are just kind of winging it, and I don’t like that.
“And unless something needs to be said, I’m not going around policing laziness in society.”
Well, what do you expect from one of the most booked and bust actors in the industry?
