Aubrey Plaza has paid tribute to her husband, Jeff Baena after he was found dead aged 47.

The writer and director was found dead over the weekend after taking his own life.

His film writing credits include The Little Hours, Joshy and Life After Beth, which featured Plaza.

The pair spent ten years together and tied the knot in 2021 after a secret engagement. They kept their relationship very private.

What did Aubrey Plaza say about her husband, Jeff Baena’s death?

Baena’s loved ones, including Plaza, outlined their grief and requested privacy at the time.

In a statement to PA, they said, “This is an unimaginable tragedy.

“We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support.

“Please respect our privacy during this time.”

Over the weekend, a rep for the ex Parks and Rec star said, “The family is devastated and asks for privacy at this difficult time.”

Have any other stars paid tribute to Jeff Baena?

Several famous faces have expressed their heartbreak at Baena’s death.

While accepting his Golden Globe for Best Director on Sunday night, The Brutalist’s Brady Corbet honoured the late writer and his widow.

With the award in his hand on the stage, the filmmaker said, “Finally, tonight my heart is with Aubrey Plaza and Jeff’s family.”

Plaza was expected to present an award at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association-backed ceremony but did not attend.

Adam Pally was among the other stars who expressed her sadness about Baena’s passing. The Joshy collaborator took to social media to express his sadness.

“Jeff Baena was a sweet, Jewish boy from Miami. He was a collaborator, a mentor, the scrappiest basketball player with the ugliest jump shot you ever saw. He was a talented director with impeccable taste and vision, he was a connector of people, a fosterer of possibility, the guy who knows where the best restaurant was no matter where you were,” he wrote on Instgram. “An overly gracious host with an almost disturbing open door policy, a film encyclopedia, and most important to me a friend.”
