The first trailer for The White Lotus season 3 recently dropped promising to deliver another immaculate season. What’s more, Max also revealed a release date of February 16 for season 3.

The show, written by Mike White, was an instant hit for Max when it premiered in 2021. Its cast of stars and salacious content made it a sensation and ensured that HBO would renew it for more seasons.

Of course, the trailer release creates speculation about what is in store for season 3. The teaser reveals a steamy return to resort life with new and old faces.

In December 2023 Max even revealed the season’s premise, stating: “The social satire is set at an exclusive Thai resort and follows the exploits of various guests and employees over the span of a week”.

But who is going to be in season 3? Let’s break it down.

Who is going to be in season 3?

In the White Lotus season 3, there will be another ensemble cast.

The show is known to have many stars including Sydney Sweeney, Jennifer Coolidge, and Aubrey Plaza, who each appeared in previous outings. However, The White Lotus is an anthology series, meaning each season has a new set of characters. Therefore, the faces you see each season come and go.

Returning from season one is Natasha Rothwell reprising her role as resort manager Belinda Lindsey. Rothwell is the only returning cast member in season 3 – who we know about at least.

There is a new ensemble cast for season 3 to look forward to though. One of the first actors announced almost a year ago was Parker Posey. Posey is known for her roles in independent films like Party Girl. In season 3, the 56-year-old plays Victoria Ratliff. Patrick Schwarzenegger plays her son, Saxon.

Also announced to star in season 3 are many familiar but new faces. In the main cast, we have Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, Jason Isaacs, Carrie Coon, Dom Hetrakul, Tayme Thapthimthong, Christian Friedel, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, Shalini Peiris, Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Sam Nivola, Nicholas Duvernay, Arnas Fedaravičius and Scott Glenn.

Also starring in a prominent role in The White Lotus season 3 is Sex Education star Aimee Lou Wood. Her casting was announced in January 2024, with Wood set to play Chelsea. The actress has been open about her role in the new season, revealing her decision to keep her accent for season 3 at the producers’ request.

“My character was meant to be American and then I did a self-tape, one in an American accent and one in my own,” she told the  Radio Times. “They were like, ‘Yeah, we want your own voice,’ so my character is going to be from Manchester!”

Not much of a blunder then since Lou Wood is from the Manchester suburb of Stockport.

Another star joining season 3 is Blackpink’s Lalisa Manobal. The White Lotus season 3 will be the singer’s acting debut. She will play a hotel employee called Mook.

Manobal was elated to join the show.

In an interview with 102.7 KIISFM, she said about her on-set experience: “It was so much fun. It was, like, magical.”

She revealed she also took something from the set that’s top secret. Maybe it’s a spoiler?

Season 3 will take a more spiritual turn, even with its supporting cast. Russian actor Miloš Biković was going to originally play Valentin, a yoga enthusiast who also doubles as the hotel’s Life Enhancement Mentor, but was replaced by Julian Kostov, according to Deadline

There was also a second recasting for season 3. Charlotte Le Bon replaced Francesca Corey. We don’t know who Le Bon will play but we know the reason for recasting her role was that the producers needed someone older. Oh dear.

Most of the cast in season 3 seem to be playing bigger roles, and while not everything is known about their characters, we can’t wait to see where The White Lotus goes next.
