- Fortnite Festival introduces local co-op for Xbox and PlayStation from January 14
- Developed by Harmonix, the rhythm game offers diverse music genres and artist collaborations
- Rumored Hatsune Miku collaboration teases new tracks and excitement

Fortnite players get ready for a jam as Epic Games has announced a thrilling update for the Fortnite Festival, adding a local co-op to it.
Local Co-Op: A Console-Exclusive Treat
For those unaware, Fortnite Festival is a rhythm game designed for Epic where players can play music and songs instead of stepping onto the battlefield and holding their weapons.
Players can press buttons or use controllers to align with the music’s rhythm and, in return, score points. Now the different thing will be the co-op, allowing players to enjoy the game together with their friends, starting January 14.
Here is the twist: this new support feature will only be available on Xbox and PlayStation, excluding all other platforms currently. PlayStation and Xbox users are going to be lucky enough to have fun like golden days.
However, this update comes with a few limitations, which players should keep in mind. Fortnite Festival was first released in 2023, developed by Harmonix studio, known by people for creating Rock Band and early Guitar Hero titles.
The company designed the rhythm game for Epic, and it has received seasonal updates, offering the gaming community music from a diversity of genres and collaborations with well-known artists.
One of the best seasons, “Remix,” brought popular rap tracks and hits from artists like Snoop Dogg.Although Fortnite Festival comes with guitar peripherals, such as the PDP-developed “Riffmaster,” other instruments like drums and microphones currently rely on standard controllers.
Exciting Collaborations on the Horizon
This limitation might prevent players from getting the immersive experience. Moreover, players have other stuff to look forward to. As per rumors, fans can expect a collaboration with Hatsune Miku, the beloved virtual idol, which could offer a stunning set of music tracks.
Epic Games has already teased this crossover with a social media post featuring a leek, which seems to refering Miku’s famous cover of “Ievan Polkka.” These hints have sparked anticipation among players eager to explore and jam on new music.
This local co-op feature in the existing Fortnite world is all about cherishing nostalgic memories while stepping into the future. Whether it’s about the original battlefield or other areas linked to Fortnite, Epic Games is always pushing boundaries to keep the fun and entertainment alive.
