- Apple Cider Vinegar is based on the true story of influencer Belle Gibson
- She claimed healthy eating helped her manage terminal cancer
- It is coming to Netflix soon

Apple Cider Vinegar is heading to Netflix to tell the story inspired by Belle Gibson, the scam influencer who claimed her clean eating cured her cancer.
A new trailer has been recently unveiled showcasing Kaitlyn Dever in the lead role.
The It Ends With Us star brings to life Belle, who claimed to have terminal brain cancer and to be able to manage it via natural remedies and alternative medicine.
Her wellness blog, The Whole Pantry, which became a business empire, detailed her lifestyle. However, her story was soon unearthed to be entirely fraudulent. Gibson didn’t have cancer.

Who created Apple Cider Vinegar?
The show is the brainchild of Samantha Strauss, who previously worked on Nine Perfect Strangers.
Of the show, she told The Hollywood Reporter in November 2024, “What we’ve tried to do in this series is to show that none of these issues are entirely black and white — we wanted it to live in the grey zone. It’s about showing what it’s like to be a young woman coping with the weightiest issues — life and death — but also staying open to the humour in the hardest moments.”
She was joined by co-writers Anya Beyersdorf and Angela Betzien, who boast credits like The Twelve and Total Control.
The Artful Dodger’s Jeffrey Walker got the honour of the director’s chair.
Where was it filmed?
All of the series were filmed on location in the Australian city of Melbourne.
