WWE’s association with major YouTube personalities is set to continue, with IShowSpeed receiving an invite to the upcoming Royal Rumble from WWE Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque.

IShowSpeed, who has been busy backflipping on the Hand of God in Guatemala, recently, has history with WWE, having taken an RKO onto an announce table at last year’s WrestleMania, courtesy of Randy Orton.

Speed was running interference for his friend and fellow YouTube personality Logan Paul in Philadelphia, last year, as The Maverick overcame the challenge of Orton and Kevin Owens to retain the WWE United States Title. Now, though, just under a year later, rather than playing mascot, Speed is heading back to one of WWE’s biggest shows of the year under his own st(r)eam.

While Speed hasn’t been confirmed as a competitor at the show (yet) like Paul likely will be in the coming weeks, the YouTube star has been granted unprecedented streaming access backstage before the show starts.

Speed’s access is likely to take him to parts of the WWE backstage area that may usually be regarding as out of bounds for non-performers or producers, but it is expected that Gorilla position (the area wrestlers go through before walking through the entrance curtain) could become Speed’s domain prior to the Rumble event going live.

Given the amount of surprises the Rumble throws up every year, Speed might not be able to have as much access as he would like before the show, but there is also a chance, given his previous in-ring experience with Randy Orton and the fact he is blessed with a boatload of natural athleticism (and, much like his buddy Logan, isn’t exactly difficult to dislike) that IShowSpeed ends up in the men’s Rumble match himself.

Speed received the invite from Triple H via FaceTime and didn’t exactly have to wait to long to accept the invitation to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, which will host this year’s Rumble event on Saturday February 1. With Logan Paul’s entry into the men’s Royal Rumble match pretty much a given, how will IShowSpeed look to insert himself into one of the company’s grandest matches of the year? Him getting on the wrong side of Jacob Fatu would be a pretty good start.
