Fans of the Scream franchise were pleased when it was revealed that original star Neve Campbell would be returning for Scream 7 – but who else will be starring in the movie.

Poor Sydney Prescott – all she wants is a quiet life and then yet another masked villain with murderous intent shows up. Fans were happy that she will be the focus of Scream 7, having been a minor character in Scream 5 and didn’t appear at all in Scream 6.

The new film seems to be going back to its roots with the inclusion of legacy characters from the earlier movies in the series – as well as Kevin Williamson, who wrote the original film and directed Scream 2 and 4 , being back in the director’s chair. Here is all we know about Scream 7.

As usual with Scream films, there is a mix of established stars and up-and-coming talents. Here is who is in the film:

Neve Campbell – Sydney Prescott

Neve Campbell is back in a starring role as Sydney Prescott. Sydney is now probably the character that Neve is best known for playing, having first taken on the role in 1996.

Now 51, Campbell’s breakthrough role was in teen drama series Party of Five in 1994, followed by Scream in 1996 and another horror flick, The Craft. Since then, she has consistently starred in movies and TV series, including House of Cards and The Lincoln Lawyer.

Courtney Cox – Gail Weathers

Courtney Cox is back as intrepid reporter Gail Weathers. She is now the only actor to appear in all seven movies in the franchise.

Cox is, of course, most famous for her role as Monica in Friends from 1994-2004. She also starred in another long-running TV series, Cougar Town, from 2009-2015.

What Weathers’ role in Scream 7 will be hasn’t been confirmed, but if the franchise is going back to its roots, as is widely expected, she could be a significant character once again.

Isabel May – Sydney’s daughter

Isabel May is best known for her role as Elsa Dutton in the Yellowstone prequels 1883 and 1923. She also starred as Katie Cooper in Netflix sitcom Alexa and Katie.

She will be playing Sydney’s teenage daughter – who hasn’t yet been named – and will therefore likely have a big role to play in the movie.

Joel McHale – Mark Evans

Joel McHale is best known for his role as Jeff Winger in Community, a role he will be reprising in the upcoming Community: The Movie.

McHale will be playing Mark Evans, Sydney’s new husband. This news came as a surprise as in previous movies Sydney was married to Detective Mark Kincaid, played by Patrick Dempsey. How Sydney and Mark met and got married has not been revealed, but could be a plot point of Scream 7.

Mason Gooding – Chad Meeks-Martin

Mason Gooding will be returning for his third Scream movie as Chad. He was one of the stars of the rebooted Scream in 2022 – the fifth film in the franchise – and Scream 6 (2023).

Gooding – son of Cuba Gooding Jr – first found fame in 2018 in Ballers and the teen drama Love, Victor from 2020-22. As well as the Scream films, he appeared in 2019’s Booksmart and Fall (2022).

Jasmin Savoy Brown – Mindy Meeks-Martin

Jasmin Savoy Brown will also be returning for a third Scream film, having played Gooding’s on-screen sister Mindy in the previous two outings for the franchise.

Away from the Scream series, Savoy Brown is known for playing the teenage Taissa Turner in the showtime drama Yellowjackets.

Mark Consuelos – unnamed role

Mark Consuelos is probably best known for being co-host of Live with Kelly and Mark alongside his wife Kelly Ripa since 2023. The pair won an Emmy in 2024 for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host.

His casting was announced in January by Deadline, but the name of his character hasn’t been revealed.

Mckenna Grace – unnamed role

Mckenna Grace, one of the rising stars of Hollywood, has an impressive list of movie credits already, despite only being 18. She has played Phoebe Spengler in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, as well as an Emmy Award-winning role in TV drama The Handmaid’s Tale. She also had roles in Captain Marvel (2019) and I, Tonya (2017).

Grace’s casting has been confirmed, but not who she will be playing.

Celeste O’Connor – unnamed role

Celeste O’Connor is also joining the cast of Scream 7 in an as-yet-unnamed role. As with Grace, she is known for her roles in the two most recent movies in the Ghostbusters franchise, where she played Lucky Domingo, who befriends Trevor Spengler.

O’Connor also played Mattie Franklin in the Song flop Madame Web in 2024.

Asa Germann – unnamed role

Yet another confirmed cast member without a named role is Asa Germann. He is best known to date for his role as Sam Riordan in superhero series Gen V – a role he also reprised in season 4 of The Boys.
