Marvel’s First Family first hit the big screen in 2005 and later received a reboot in 2015 with a film titled Fantastic Four, directed by Josh Trank. However, both were a critical and commercial disappointment. Now, the team is getting another shot and with a…fantastic cast announced, fans have reason to be hopeful. Let’s take a look at who’s involved.

Pedro Pascal – Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic

Pedro Pascal is playing the team’s leader and the superhero with insane stretching abilities, Mister Fantastic. Pascal is best known for his roles as Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones, Javier Peña in Narcos, and of course, Din Djarin in The Mandalorian.

He also starred in the HBO drama series, The Last of Us, which earned him lead actor nominations at the Emmys and Golden Globes.

Vanessa Kirby – Sue Storm / Invisible Woman

While she might be hard to see, Vanessa Kirby will be playing Pascal’s on-screen husband, Invisible Woman.

Kirby gained acclaim for portraying Princess Margaret in The Crown and has appeared in films like Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Hobbs & Shaw, and Pieces of a Woman. She received an Academy Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for the latter.

Joseph Quinn – Johnny Storm / Human Torch

Invisible Woman’s brother, Johnny Storm aka Human Torch is portrayed by Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn.

Quinn played the role of the eccentric Eddie Munson in Stranger Things season 4. Most recently, he starred as Geta in the 2024’s action film Gladiator II.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach – Ben Grimm / The Thing

Ebon Moss-Bachrach, best known for his portrayal of loudmouth restaurant owner Richie Jerimovich in The Bear, takes on the role as The Thing.

The Emmy winning actor has also been recognized for his performance as Desi Harperin in Girls.

In a teaser post for the new film on Valentine’s Day 2024, Moss-Bachrach is seen as astronaut Ben Grimm in a framed photo on the wall, before his exposure to cosmic rays transforms him into the orange, muscle-bound giant.

Ralph Ineson – Galactus

British actor Ralph Ineson portrays cosmic entity Galactus. The character previously featured as a CGI-generated cosmic cloud in 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. It did not go down well with audiences.

Inseon is best known for his work as brash sales representative Chris Finch in the acclaimed British sitcom, The Office (2001). But since then he has amassed an incredible body of work across film, tv and video game voice acting.  His most recent work is a pivotal cameo in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein.

Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal / Silver Surfer

Julia Garner plays the Silver Surfer, whose scenes were filmed exclusively in motion capture. Speaking to Who What Wear about her venture into the MCU, she said, “You have to imagine everything when you’re doing it, as if you’re auditioning. Even though we had the sets, I didn’t have my costume or hair and makeup or anything”.

Garner gained recognition for playing Ruth Langmore in the Netflix crime drama series Ozark, for which she received critical acclaim and won three Primetime Emmy Awards.

Rounding out the cast are Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Their roles in the film remain under wraps for now.
