2024-25 NBA Trade Deadline: One of the most shocking trades in history saw the Dallas Mavericks swap Luka Doncic to the LA Lakers

So, safe to say this NBA Trade Deadline proved to be pretty uneventful, then *STARES DIRECTLY INTO CAMERA WITHOUT BLINKING ONCE FOR 10 STRAIGHT MINUTES*.

We are a week removed from the Dallas Mavericks deciding that it was just too much fun having a top five player and potential all-timer at the peak of his powers on their roster. Seven solid days of nobody quite believing that the Mavs had just VOLUNTARILY TRADED LUKA DONCIC less than a year after he led them to the NBA Finals.

And honestly, in all of this hysteria, spare a thought for Anthony Davis, just named an All Star for the 10th time, who still has a whole lot to offer at 31 years of age, but has been flung into an absolutely unwinnable situation in Dallas with a set of fans who literally held funerals outside the American Airlines Center after Doncic was sent to Los Angeles.

In the midst of ALL THIS, the Jimmy Butler-in-Miami saga was finally brought to a close as the six-time All Star joined up with Steph Curry and Draymond Green in Golden State. De’Aaron Fox became a San Antonio Spur after seven-and-a-half seasons as a King in Sacramento. And the Lakers added Charlotte Hornets center Mark Williams to bolster their frontcourt.

But these headline grabbing trades were far from the only deals that went down ahead of yesterday’s Deadline. So who else beat the buzzer to shake things up ahead of potential playoff runs?
