- Absurd mutant dinosaur teased
- Iconic dino returns
- Spinosaurus appears for first time since first film

The first trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth has landed and fans are already picking it apart frame by frame. Many are searching for clues that will help identify all the dinosaurs that have been revealed.
Jurassic World Rebirth is the seventh movie in the franchise, picking up five years after 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion’s ending. No characters from either the original Jurassic Park trilogy or the Jurassic World films make a return. The new film marks a ‘new era’ led by Scarlet Johansson and is one of the most anticipated films of 2025.

While there’s no familiar human characters returning in the latest instalment, the trailer shows glimpses of some iconic dinosaurs, both old and new. We’ve put our paleontologist cap on and compiled a list of all the dinos that can be spotted.
Dilophosaurus

The unmistakable Dilophosaurus aka the venom spitter. The terrifying dinosaur is an icon of the franchise. The toxic creature featured in the original Jurassic Park movie killing Denis Nedry, and again in Jurassic World Dominion. With its brightly colored neck frills exposed, it can spit venom at potential enemies up to 20 feet away. The theropod is shown signalling that it is about to attack a girl.
Spinosaurus

The Spinosaurus took the helm as the biggest baddie in 2001’s Jurassic Park III, even defeating the T-Rex in a battle to the death. It was the main threat for Dr. Alan Grant and his team. Now, for the first time since that film, the fearsome predator returns – but this time, there are three of them. They are seen leaping out of the water and attempting to climb onto a boat with the main characters on.
Titanosaurus

The Titanosaurus is one of the largest sauropods and its sheer size is a highlight in the trailer. They’re seen standing in a field, which is reminiscent of the original Jurassic Park when Dr. Alan Grant and co see the Brachiosaurus for the first time. It’s the first time the Titanosaurus is featured in the franchise, but similar dinos such Apatosaurus, Dreadnoughtus and Brachiosaurus have been a staple.
Velociraptor

Perhaps the scariest dinosaur of all, the Velociraptor. There’s a reason why it has appeared in every single film. The clever carnivores make for brilliant cinema as they stalk characters – nobody can forget the suspenseful kitchen scene from the original film. They are teased in the new trailer, as we see a raptor’s feet and claws walking through water. Not only that, but there’s a first look at what appears to be a two-headed mutant Velociraptor.
Quetzalcoatlus

The Quetzalcoatlus is referred to as a “flying carnivore the size of an F-16” in the new trailer. The pterosaur made its debut in Jurassic World Dominion and the biggest flying dinosaur makes its return. Three Quetzalcoatlus are shown circling in the sky above ancient ruins, before our main characters (Zora and Henry) attempt to steal the dinosaur’s DNA from an egg.
Tyrannosaurus Rex

The most iconic dinosaur returns. You’d feel hard done by if the Tyrannosaurus Rex didn’t feature in a Jurassic Park movie. It’s the star attraction. The franchise’s original T-Rex, lovingly known by fans as Rexy, was last seen in Jurassic World Dominion. This T-Rex however, has a slightly different appearance than the original apex predator, so it’s unclear whether they’re friend or foe.
New Mutant Dinosaur

The trailer provides a glimpse of a brand new mutant dinosaur dubbed D-Rex, which looks like pure nightmare fuel. The franchise has a tradition of giving fans a new hybrid species – Indominus Rex and Scorpious Rex being a couple – but this new dino takes the concept to a level of absurdity. The monstrous creation is referred to as “the worst of the worst”.
Mosasaurus

Mosasaurus first appeared in the original Jurassic World movie in 2015 and has been a mainstay ever since. It was confirmed to still be alive at the end of the trilogy and now the biggest dinosaur in the water is returning once again. The trailer gives an up-close look at just how massive the Mosasaurus is during the boat attack. You also might recall how the sea monster devoured Zara Young in Jurassic World.
