- The Immortal Man will conclude the story of Tommy Shelby
- However, the creator of the show has said this doesn’t mean it is the end of Peaky Blinders
- Many of the cast of Peaky Blinders are returning for The Immortal Man

While the upcoming movie The Immortal Man is expected to conclude the story of Tommy Shelby, it doesn’t mean that it is the end of Peaky Blinders.
There was much mourning when the Peaky Blinders TV series ended in 2022. But this blow was softened when it was announced that a movie was in development to conclude the story of Tommy Shelby and his band of Birmingham-based gangsters.
The big-screen version will resume Tommy Shelby’s story some years after the conclusion of the final series. It will take in World War II, which took place from 1939-45.
The movie will focus on the Shelby family’s fortunes during the war period. Knight has also said that the new generation of characters, introduced in season six, were also part of the film.
Cast return for The Immortal Man
Many of the cast from the TV series will be reprising their roles for the big screen outing of Peaky Blinders. When Cillian Murphy, who plays Tommy Shelby, confirmed his return her said: “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me. It is gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This one is for the fans.”
Other actors reprising roles include Paul Anderson, Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee and Ian Peck.
Other stars who have signed on to play roles include Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth and Barry Keoghan.
Here is all we know about The Immortal Man.
More Peaky Blinders
But while The Immortal Man is expected to conclude Tommy Shelby’s story, it doesn’t mean that it is the end of the Peaky Blinders world. Talking to BBC Breakfast in the UK, Stephen Knight, the creator and writer of Peaky Blinders said that The Immortal Man is “a very fitting way to end this part of the Peaky story. This part, yes.”
But then Knight added: “I’m not allowed to announce it, but I’m just saying that the world of ‘Peaky’ will continue.”
This tantalising news isn’t the first time Knight has suggested that there will be a continuation. Given his words, it sounds like there could already be something in the pipeline, and that an announcement could come in the not-too-distant future.
However, Knight has remained tight-lipped on what form the continuation could take – whether it will be with the Shelbys or follow one of the many other characters that have appeared in the show.
