While she made a global name for herself as a pop star, the singer, 32, is taking a step back from her music career, in favor of accepting more acting roles – after wowing audiences with her portrayal of Glinda in the movie-musical, Wicked.
While some celebrities are fiercely private about their personal lives (Paul Mescal, we’re looking at you!), the nature of Grande’s fame means her relationships are usually public knowledge.
Currently dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, Grande was previously married before the couple got together.

Born and raised in southern California, Gomez is an LA-based luxury real estate agent.
He serves as director of the estates division for the Aaron Kirman Group, where he works with A-list clients.

Perhaps due to his line of work, Gomez is used to brushing shoulders with the rich and famous.
He is friends with Miley Cyrus, and in 2017, Gomez shared a photo of himself hanging out with the singer and their other friends on his Instagram Story with the caption, “Hoodlums.”

While Gomez still had an Instagram account during his time with Grande (which he appears to have now deactivated), he set it to private very soon after news of their relationship became public knowledge.
Sweetly, his profile picture was a black-and-white photo of himself and Grande, and the singer followed him on social media.
The couple were also able to keep their romance under wraps at first, as they were isolating together during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic.
“Dalton is a great guy. He is very focused on work and low-key,” an insider told PEOPLE after the couple’s engagement in December 2020. “He likes keeping his relationship with Ari private. They have been able to get to know each other in peace.”

When did Dalton Gomez and Ariana Grande start dating?
The former couple were first spotted in February 2020, after it was reported that Grande had been seen kissing a “mystery man” who turned out to be Gomez.
Their relationship was officially confirmed in March of that year – but it was said that they had already been dating for around two months, meaning that the pair first got together around January 2020.
As mentioned, Grande and Gomez then managed to keep themselves out of the spotlight thanks to the pandemic, with a source telling PEOPLE that they were quarantining together in her home, as she didn’t want another “public relationship, so she is trying to keep this one quiet, but she seems very happy with Dalton”.

However, fans couldn’t help but notice that Grande included Gomez in the music video for her track with Justin Bieber, Stuck With U.
Released on May 8, 2020, the video was shot on an iPhone and featured clips from fans as well as fellow celebrities as they isolated at home during the pandemic.
Gomez made a surprise cameo in the video, where he’s seen hugging and dancing with Grande.

Just under a year after they began dating, Grande announced her engagement to Gomez on Instagram.
The sweet post contained photos of the couple, along with shots of her engagement ring, which features both an oval-shaped diamond and a pearl.

At the time, a source revealed, “They couldn’t be happier, they’re just so excited. This is a happy time for them, both sets of parents are thrilled.”

The whirlwind romance continued – and five months after their engagement, the couple tied the knot in an “intimate” ceremony at their home in Montecito, California.
”They got married,” Grande’s rep confirmed two days after the ceremony. “It was tiny and intimate – less than 20 people. The room was so happy and full of love. The couple and both families couldn’t be happier.”
For the nuptials, the house was filled with candles and white flowers, with Gomez in a Tom Ford suit and Grande in a custom Vera Wang gown.

Sadly, their love didn’t go the distance – and the couple settled the terms of their divorce in October 2023. The divorce was finalized in March 2024.
Grande agreed to pay Gomez a lump sum of $1,250,000 and split the proceeds from the sale of their former LA home.
Some sources revealed that it was Grande’s move to the UK to film Wicked which put a strain on their relationship.
“Dalton’s career is demanding and he can’t leave Los Angeles often,” they revealed. “So, when [Grande] started filming Wicked in England, they were in for a long-distance marriage.
“Ari has nothing but kind words to say about Dalton. During their marriage, he was her number one fan.”
However, a week after the couple’s split was made public, another source told PEOPLE that “Dalton is very religious and was committed to making it work, but Ariana had moved on.”
