The success of season 2
Severance’s second outing has been a huge hit. So far, it has received scores of 96% from critics and 71% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
It even broke records to become the most watched show on the streamer, bypassing beloved comedy series Ted Lasso. In addition, it has continually sat at the top of Apple TV+’s streaming charts.

According to Forbes, Severance may have driven the 126% uptick in people signing up for the streamer in the first two weeks of January.
Who is in Severance and what is it about?
Severance follows the employees of Lumon Industries, who have undergone a process called severance which separates their work selves from their home selves. The two people have different memories and the innie (the work counterpart) has no idea what their outie (the home counterpart) is doing once they leave the office.
Adam Scott leads the cast as Mark Scout. He works alongside Helly R/Helena Eagen (Britt Lower), Irving Bailiff (John Turturro), and Dylan George (Zach Cherry), with Harmony Cobel (Patricia Arquette) and Seth Milchick (Tramell Tillman) also part of the story.
Has it been renewed for season 3 yet?

Apple TV+ hasn’t officially confirmed yet whether Severance will get a third season. However, given its huge success, it seems all but inevitable.
However, Stiller has said that the team have already started laying the groundwork for a third season. Evidently, this is so production can start promptly once Apple gives it the green light.
Creatively speaking, Stiller has said there isn’t an end in sight for the show yet anyhow.
“You have a responsibility to the audience that you’re going somewhere with it,” he said [via Collider]. That’s always been a part of it for us, really understanding where it’s heading to, and Apple’s been really supportive of that and been sensitive to what the story is and not saying, ‘Okay, this is something that has to keep going as long as it’s successful.’ It should go as long as the story goes, and that’s something we have an idea of, and we’re working towards as we’re starting up our Season 3 work.”
