- The film’s soundtrack has been named the longest running number one ever on the Official Compilations Chart

Wicked wowed crowds when it hit theaters last November.
And now it appears fans are still getting involved in all the magic at home – as the soundtrack has broken records in the UK charts.
Across the pond, Wicked: The Soundtrack has officially been named the longest running number one ever on the Official Compilations Chart.
The record has now been Defying Gravity for 16 weeks in a row, after flying straight to number one on December 5, 2024.
On its release, it earned a hat-trick of official charts records: the biggest streaming debut for a musical soundtrack in UK chart history, the biggest debut week for a musical soundtrack in the 2020s, and the biggest week of vinyl sales for a musical soundtrack in the 21st century.
The 16 weeks beats previous record holders Barbie: The Album and Now That’s What I Call Music 103, which each spent 15 consecutive weeks at the summit.
Ariana Grande sets release date for deluxe album
The Wicked soundtrack’s success isn’t the only album news the cast have put out recently.
On March 10, Ariana Grande revealed a release date for the deluxe version of her album, Eternal Sunshine.
In an Instagram post, Grande – who plays Glinda in Wicked – announced the news to her 376 million followers that the deluxe record will be available from March 28.
The release of Eternal Sunshine Deluxe comes a year after the album’s release on March 8, 2024. Grande wished her fans “happy one year of Eternal Sunshine” in a separate Instagram post.
Grande released her seventh studio album last year. The record followed her public divorce and breakup with real estate agent Dalton Gomez.
When was Eternal Sunshine supposed to come out?

Many Arianators thought Grande was going to release Eternal Sunshine sooner, after confirming the album’s existence in a January 2025 interview – exclaiming, “Oh, she exists!”
On releasing the album, Grande said, “It’s a very special project. I’m out there so much right now. I want to let my children miss me for two seconds.
“I’m excited to surprise them with it at some point, but I’m still mulling over the timing in my head. It’s not the end of Peaches just yet, but she’s going in the closet for a minute.”
In the same interview, she also said she had “considered a mini tour,” but was focused on Wicked.
