Happy Gilmore 2 looks set to return an Adam Sandler favourite to the big screen, with the film’s new trailer seeming to confirm Blake Clark’s Farmer Fran as a character in the sequel.

Farmer Fran wasn’t actually a part of the original Happy Gilmore, but rather a supporting character in 1998’s The Waterboy. Sandler fans will remember him mainly for, well, playing with his pierced nipples.

HAPPY GILMORE 2: EVERYTHING WE KNOW SO FAR

Clark, who has appeared in several of Sandler’s films over the years, including 50 First Dates, Grown Ups and Mr.Deeds, makes his presence felt at around the 46 second mark of the new trailer, which dropped yesterday.

It isn’t actually specified if Clark is indeed playing Farmer Fran in Happy Gilmore 2, although given the propensity for self arousal that his character appears to enjoy in the new trailer, it’s probably a safe bet that it’s a Sandler-verse crossover and not an entirely new, nipple fixated character.

The Netflix sequel, released on July 25, sees Sandler’s Gilmore return to golf after an apparent few years away from the sport. The comedy icon is joined by Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald, who reprise their roles of Virginia Venit and Shooter McGavin, respectively. Ben Stiller also returns in his Hal L cameo along with newcomers to the franchise Bad Bunny, Travis Kelce, Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Becky Lynch.

Bad Bunny is set to play Happy’s caddy, making several appearances throughout the trailer. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Kelce, meanwhile, seems to be an employee at a club house, judging by his showing in the original teaser trailer, which was released earlier this year.

Sandler shared the trailer to Instagram, writing “Hope you all have fun and thanks for all the great times.”
