- Fyre Festival 2 is supposedly taking place at the end of May
- The original festival never happen and founder Billy McFarland ended up in jail
- Island host says new festival doesn’t exist

An employee who worked on the first Fyre Festival is urging people not to part with their money for tickets to Fyre Festival 2. Which seems like sage advice given how the first one was about as successful as Snow White’s press campaign.
Fyre Festival 2 is SUPPOSEDLY heading to the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, with just one act slated to play – former NFL player-turned-rapper Antonio Brown – for an event reportedly taking place between May 30 and June 2. Not that officials from Isla Mujeres are convinced, however. Tourism directorate Edgar Gasca has reportedly had zero contact with any person or company regarding any potential Fyre Festival 2 taking place on their turf.

“For us, this is an event that does not exist,” explained Gasca, per The Guardian, adding “This festival is not going to happen. There are red flags all over the place,” Gasca continued. “If you go on their website and take the coordinates they provide, then put them in Google Maps, it takes you to the ocean — between Cancún and Isla Mujeres.”
“Do Anything Else”
Now, JD Beebe, who worked with Fyre founder Billy McFarland on the first event and helped him with card-based membership club Magnises, has spoken out about the reported follow up event, telling concert goers to stay well clear and spend their money on literally anything else.
Speaking to The Sun, Beebe said, “I don’t even think there’s been enough promise to go as advertised, so I don’t even know what people are signing up for. I don’t believe that what he said people have paid for is true, he has a long history of stating things that aren’t true, in terms of x numbers, tickets, and this, that and the other.”

“It seems like there’s an event that’s going to happen. But who knows what it’s going to be, you know? I don’t know. Is that a victory, that an event is going to happen?” JD asked. “Is it going to go on as as advertised? No, because he’s advertised nothing.”
“Life is so short, there are so many other things to spend your money and time on,” he said. “Do anything else, just anything else, like anything else that is certain in life.”
“Spend time with your family, bring your loved one out to dinner who you know is going to be there. That’s what I’d say.”
Billy McFarland is “PR Genius” For Fyre Festival 2 Announcement
Despite having plenty of harsh words to share about Fyre Festival, Beebe did admit he thought Billy McFarland was at least a PR genius.
“Think about how great of a headline it is to write that someone bought not even a $1 million ticket, but $1.1 million which is an atypical number, Prometheus ticket.
“If he’s anything, he is an absolute PR genius. The fact that we’re still we’re sitting here talking about him however many years later and I haven’t worked with this guy for 10 years, and I’m still still here, and he’s a genius in that regard. I will give him that. There is no Prometheus ticket, nobody bought it, nobody bought a second one. There’s no way to check this and that’s why this is great.”
We suspect that’s the only time the word “great” will be associated by Fyre Festival 2.
