Fyre Festival 2 may not be happening according to local officials in Mexico, but Antonio Brown doesn’t seem bothered by that. The Super Bowl winning wide receiver just confirmed that he would be playing the festival, which, organiser and convicted con man Billy McFarland assures us, is happening between May 30 – June 2.
Brown, who last turned out in the NFL back in 2022, has undertaken a rap career in the intervening three years, with his debut ‘Put That S**t On’ becoming an unlikely viral hit three years ago.
The former Pittsburgh Steeler confirmed on X this week that he would be appearing, despite the fact, as first reported by The Guardian, tourism directorate Edgar Gasca has reportedly had zero contact with any person or company regarding any potential Fyre Festival 2 taking place on their turf.
“For us, this is an event that does not exist,” explained Gasca, adding “This festival is not going to happen. There are red flags all over the place,” Gasca continued. “If you go on their website and take the coordinates they provide, then put them in Google Maps, it takes you to the ocean — between Cancún and Isla Mujeres.”

Super Bowl winner Brown, however, seems unfazed by Gasca’s warnings and is intent on putting on a show at Fyre Festival 2, saying in his announcement video, “Be there or be square. and make sure you put that s**t on.”
The seven-time Pro Bowler will have to be careful he isn’t hoodwinked, scammed or bamboozled like Ja Rule was during Fyre Festival 1.
