Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell gained attention for their chemistry, and they’ve been friends for a while. Sweeney, 27, and Powell, 36, starred in the 2023 romantic comedy Anyone But You. 2023 – the friendship begins
In April 2023, while filming Anyone But You in Australia, photos from the set went viral. The photos showed Sweeney and Powell cosying up to each other while in character. The internet thought there was more to the pics. However, it was evident that the duo was filming.
On working on the film, Sweeney said, “The whole experience was absolutely incredible”.
A few months later, Sweeney spoke publicly about her friendship with Powell. To Variety, she admitted that the two played up their chemistry for the movie. She said she and he “don’t really care” about people’s opinions.
On her co-star, she said: “We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker.”
Despite all the affair rumors, in October 2023, she wished Powell a happy 35th birthday on her Instagram Stories. The Euphoria star wrote, “Happy birthday to my fellow camp counselor, adventure extraordinaire, and goofball”.
For his November 2023 Men’s Health shoot, reports say Sweeney commented on the post saying, “Just heating up everybody’s winter, huh?” Are you even friends if you can’t flirt a little?

In March 2024, Powell was mentioned in Sweeney’s Saturday Night Live monologue. In a joke about their ‘affair’, Sweeney talks about Davino and how much he means to her. Jokingly, the camera cuts to Powell, and Sweeney says, “That’s not my fiancé!”
Moving into October 2024, Powell sung Sweeney’s praises as part of her Glamour Woman of the Year profile. Speaking of Sweeney, he said, “As a friend, she’s so thoughtful.” He continues, “Sometimes, the perception of people when they’re incredibly ambitious or business-minded can be that they neglect other things in their lives.”

Romance rumors were ignited when Sweeney attended Powell’s sister Leslie’s wedding in Texas, but they were shut down. A source exclusively told Us Weekly, “There is nothing going on romantically between Glen and Sydney. They are just friends. Sydney is close with the entire family.”
