- The second instalment of Wicked will hit theaters on November 21
- And CinemaCon goers were treated to the first trailer of the movie on April 2
- However, the clip is not yet available to the public – and fans online were not happy!
Wicked fans went wild on April 2, as the trailer for the second instalment of the hit movie-musical was finally unveiled.
While the film won’t be available to watch until November 21 this year, Wicked Part 2 – officially titled Wicked: For Good – will once again star Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, and Ariana Grande as Glinda.
And as the pair both received Oscar nominations for their portrayals of the characters, followers could hardly wait to catch a glimpse of what’s in store for the second movie.
Except… they will have to wait – as the trailer was shown exclusively at CinemaCon.
And fans weren’t happy.

Taking to Twitter/X, one fan wrote, “Why is there no grainy cell phone footage of the Wicked teaser hitting the timeline, what happened to integrity, what happened to duty, what happened to community.”
“I don’t care if you’re watching exclusive footage of Wicked: For Good right now, it should’ve happened to me,” another went on, as a third added, “Wicked: For Good trailer premiered like 20 mins ago now and not one single leak yet?”
Someone else said, “I’ve spent the last hour or two refreshing my timeline waiting for the Wicked: For Good trailer to drop any second.”

Some chose to simply sail through the drought with a calm spirit.
“I decided that I’m not watching the Wicked trailer when it comes out,” they wrote. “I need to see and hear everything for the first time in the movie theatre.”
While others took a more, erm, extreme approach.

“Can someone take one for the team and risk jail time for the Wicked: For Good first look?” they urged.
Another added, “TAKE ONE FOR THE F***ING TEAM AND LEAK THE WICKED: FOR GOOD TRAILER GODDAMNIT.” Okayyy then…

Not to rub salt in the wound to the fans begging to see the new trailer, but the clip has been branded as “dazzling”.
According to Variety, Elphaba is studying up on the sacred text known as the Grimmerie, while Glinda can be seen adjusting her crown as she’s taken under the wing of the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) and Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh).

“The Wicked Witch can’t ignore us forever,” Morrible growls. Earlier in the footage, Grande warns her friend, “Elphaba, they’re coming for you.”
The footage also featured glimpses at Glinda and Fiyero’s wedding, the (terrifying) flying monkeys, as well as the iconic shot of Dorothy, the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion arriving in Oz and presenting themselves in front of the wonderful wizard.
