Why did the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, Jillian Lauren, get shot by police?
Jillian was shot following a chase through the streets on Tuesday, 8 April. Officers say they were attempting to locate a trio of suspects alleged to have deserted a car accident.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the initial incident took place on the 134 Freeway, and the suspects fled the scene.

One of the suspects is believed to have ended up on the road where Lauren lives with her husband and their family.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department report, she is believed to have left her home, holding a gun, which she refused to drop despite “numerous” requests from law enforcement.

The LAPD rep added that Lauren “then pointed the handgun at the officers,” who then fired a bullet. It then hit her in the shoulder.

Afterwards, Lauren and another woman were taken into custody
Where did the shooting take place?
The shooting is said to have been carried out in their backyard. Their family home is in the northeast Los Angeles neighbourhood of Eagle Rock.

What else happened?
In the aftermath, she re-entered her residence. When asked why she was doing what she was doing to the police, she informed them she was attempting to defend her home.
When Jillian came back outside, after roughly half an hour, Lauren and another woman, believed to be her babysitter, were taken into police custody.
The suspected hit-and-run driver was also caught by the cops, according to a CHP representative. He, whose identity has not been made public, was found wearing nothing but his underpants in a neighbouring house’s back garden.
