Vince Vaughn stopped by the Oval Office earlier this week to visit President Donald Trump, making people wonder if this signals support for his administration.
The visit took place on Friday (18 April). Afterwards, the White House’s X account shared a fake movie poster based on Vaughn’s classic comedy Wedding Crashers. It depicted the actor with Trump at the Oval Office along with the title White House Crashers.

According to The Hill, the White House didn’t formally list Vaughn’s visit on Trump’s schedule, which the media can see. As such, it’s unknown why he was there and what they discussed.

Have they met before?
They have. The pair were previously pictured together in New Orleans at the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship game. Facing backlash for the meeting, Vaughn claimed it was the only time he’d ever met Trump.
So is Vaughn a Trump voter?

Not necessarily. Politically, he identifies as a libertarian but he’s not especially partisan.
He told the Los Angeles Times: “In my career I’ve met a lot of politicians who I’ve always been cordial to. I don’t have a party that I support and endorse. In fact, for me sometimes it’s difficult to find a candidate that you feel is philosophically consistent and not just going along with whoever is funding their particular party.”
In a New York Times Magazine profile last year, Vaughn described himself as a “believer more in allowing individuals to make choices.” He added: “So I think that drugs should be legal and people should have guns.”

“I’d rather say let people make their choices, and they can make different choices and have the consequences of their choices,” he said of his political views.
What else has Vaughn been up to lately?
Vaughn’s next project is the Stephen Chbosky comedy-drama Nonnas, which will air on Netflix from next month. It centers on a Staten Island restaurant only serving food prepared by grandmothers.
Per Netflix, it follows Vaughn as Joe, “who, after losing his mom and grandmother, turns to their generations-old recipes for solace and direction. With the money from his mom’s insurance and a little help from his friends, he opens Enoteca Maria, an old-school Italian spot that staffs four grandmothers, or “nonnas,” from different cities in Italy, who share their dishes with the neighborhood.”
