Green Day member Tré Cool poked fun at Charli xcx declaring her so-called rightful place as the headliner at Coachella.
During the first weekend of the Palm Springs-based festival, the Von Dutch hitmaker sported a sash that read “Miss Should Be Headliner” at an after-party. The snapshot was taken while her husband, George Daniel, was tearing up the DJ decks.
The move annoyed a lot of Green Day fans, who argued that their decades in the business made them deserving of the top spot in the Saturday slots. However, it all seems to have been taken in good fun because their drummer was spotted in one of his ones that read “actual headliner”.

The influencer-packed music celebration goes on for two consecutive weekends with the same headliner. Lady Gaga and Post Malone also snagged top billing, on Friday and Sunday respectively.

How else did Green Day poke fun at Charli xcx?
The band’s front man Billie Joe Armstrong also got in on the faux beef by wearing a lime green baseball cap emblazoned with “BRAT”. The colour and title were a huge part of the pop star’s smash-hit album last summer.
Along with these two, the band also includes Mike Dirnt. Their career has spanned since the 90s. Among their most notable drops include the 2004 album American Idiot, which highlighted their opposition to President George W. Bush’s War on Terror.

The album spawned a remix version featuring collaborations from acts like The 1975, Caroline Polachek and Ariana Grande. Many felt emboldened to adopt the carefree, party girl attitude spread by the LP in their personal lives.
The memes hit a fever pitch when xcx declared that Kamala Harris was “brat” when she announced her bid to become the Democratic candidate for the White House. In November, she lost the US presidential election to Donald Trump.
