Pete Davidson has revealed how much his tattoo removal has cost so far – and it’s more than you might think.

The former Saturday Night Live comic and actor is famous for his extensive body tattoos. However, pretty soon, body ink won’t be associated with this star.

The King of Staten Island actor was known for having around 200 different tattoos. However, after battling various personal issues, Davidson has taken the decision to have many of them lasered off now that he finds himself freshly sober.

According to reports, the ones he’s decided to ditch remind him of a darker time and a “sad person that was very unsure.”

It’s no small thing – least of all in the way that it impacts his bank account.

As revealed in a new interview, Davidson’s tattoo removal has so far set him back six figures – and the job’s not even done yet.

As revealed in Davidson’s recent Variety chat, his tattoo removal is believed to have set the star back quite a lot.

“It’s a pretty uncomfortable amount of money to disclose,” he told the outlet, “but I think one of the tabloids already leaked it.

“I’ve already spent like 200K and I’m like 30% done. So, like, it’s gonna suck.”

So far, Davidson’s hands, arms and neck are completely ink-free but he has a lot more to get through before he’s fully finished.

It’s a slow process, too. It’s believed that each tat takes around 10 to 12 laser sessions to fully remove. Throw the actor’s hectic work schedule into the mix and this could result in a 60 week process – just to remove one piece of artwork.

Davidson believes it’ll take another decade before he’s fully free of tattoos… and money, by the sounds of it.

Oh and did we mention it’s painful to boot? “It’s like putting your arm on a grill and burning off a layer,” Davidson told Variety. “It sucks, I’m not gonna lie.”

Davidson says his decision to remove some of his tattoos is down to personal growth. In short, some of these pieces of art remind him of someone he no longer relates to.

“I used to be a drug addict and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up,” explained the comic.

“So I’m just removing them and starting fresh, because that’s what I think works best for me and for my brain.

“When I look in the mirror, I don’t want the reminder of ‘Oh yeah, you were a f**king drug addict.

“Like, that’s why you have SpongeBob smoking a joint on your back.’”
