Mummy Pig, a.k.a. the mother of Peppa Pig, has revealed the gender of her third child. Back in February, Mummy Pig announced her pregnancy, which broke the internet. The matriarch of the piggy family has two children: Peppa, a daughter, and George, a son. She is married to Daddy Pig.

The pregnancy came as a shock to Peppa Pig fans, as Mummy Pig has enjoyed a comfortable life since 2004 with her family of four. But hey, maybe she was broody? An exclusive gender reveal happened at London’s swanky Battersea Power Station on 25 April, and fans of the family were invited down to join in the gender celebrations.

But what is Mummy Pig having?

The sibling of Peppa, due in the summer, is a baby girl pig! At the power station, the famous chimneys lit up pink to reveal the exciting news.

In autumn, the girl will make her cameo in the show. Furthermore, the baby’s introduction and the gender reveal episode will be broadcast. On 3 May, the gender reveal episode will air on YouTube, as part of the Peppa Pig Tales Series.

At the end of May, an hour-long Peppa Meets The Baby will be released.

In the special with ten episodes, there will be a documentary of Peppa and George preparing for the arrival of their baby sister.

How did the internet react?

The internet was happy about the reveal…mostly. In response to the gender announcement, one user said, “She should be at the club”.

Girl, she’s a mom of two!

Meanwhile, another user scolded the pigs’ decision to have a child in such a bad economy. In a post, the user said, “This is very irresponsible. The shared income of both Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig is < $25,000. They can hardly afford a second child in this economy, let alone a third one. Daddy Pig would need to double his hours at Jersey Mike’s to afford having a third kid.”

Considering the success of their show, we think they’ll do fine.

Similarly, another user on X asked the same question: “In this economy?”

Back to Daddy Pig, another user said he “better start building another bunk bed”. Maybe he can bunk with George?

However, most X users were overjoyed by the news. “Exciting news,” one person replied.

With a GIF of Peppa, another user said, “Congratulations?”

Gushing over the gender reveal, another user said, “Can’t wait to meet Peppa’s little sister. The Pig family just keeps getting cuter and cuter. I bet Peppa is going to be the best big sister ever”.

“So happy for her,” declared someone else.
