The voice cast for the latest instalment of the Minions franchise, Minions & Monsters, has been announced – here is where you’ve seen or heard them before.

The Minions have been the undoubted stars of the Despicable Me franchise ever since they made their debut back in 2010. Everyone loves their comically inept antics and attempts at evil, and their distinctive ‘Minionese’ language.
Fans of the franchise are already excited about their third solo movie outing coming out later this year, Minions & Monsters, which is a prequel to the previous Minions and Despicable Me films as it is set in 1920s Hollywood as the crew look to find a lead for their monster movie.
But now the voice cast has been announced per Variety – to ramp up that excitement even more – although there aren’t as yet any details on the characters they will play.
The voice cast includes some very familiar names – and some not so – but where have you heard or seen them before? Read on to find out.
Jesse Eisenberg
Jesse has been a fixture in Hollywood movies for years now. He is possibly most famous for his portrayal of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network in 2010, for which he was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar. He was also Lex Luthor in the DC Extended Universe, appearing in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zach Synder’s Justice League (2021) as the character.
Jesse has also done voicework, voicing Blu in Rio (2011) and Rio 2 (2014).
Jeff Bridges
Jeff is Hollywood royalty and has a career that has spanned seven decades. Over the years he has appeared in numerous movies, including winning an Oscar for his role as an alcoholic singer in 2009’s Crazy Heart. Other notable movies he has starred in include Tron (1982), The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989), The Fisher King (1991) and Iron Man (2008).
Possibly Jeff’s most iconic role came in 1998’s noir comedy The Big Lebowski, where he played Jeffrey ‘The Dude’ Lebowski
Allison Janney
Allison has been a fixture on the big and small screen for more than 25 years. Her breakthrough role came as CJ Cregg in political drama series The West Wing (1999-2006).
Since then she has appeared in various movies and TV series including American Beauty (1999), 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), I, Tonya (2017 – for which she won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar) and sitcom Mom (2013-21).
Christoph Waltz
Austrian and German actor Christoph is best known for his villainous roles, perhaps most famously as Hans Landa in Quentin Tarantino’s 2009 World War II movie Inglourious Basterds, for which he won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
He teamed up with Tarantino again in 2012 for Djano Unchained, where he played bounty hunter Dr King Schultz – for which he won another Best Support Actor Oscar.
Christoph also appeared as Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the James Bond movies Spectre (2015) and No Time to Die (2021).
Trey Parker
Trey is best known for being one of the co-creators of long-running animated show South Park alongside Matt Stone. The first show aired in 1997 and the pair still work on the show, writing, directing and voicing most of the characters. Trey voices core characters Stan and Cartman, as well as many others in the South Park universe.
Pierre Coffin
The Minions’ voices are a key part of their charm. Right from the start, they have been voiced by Pierre Coffin – and will be again here.
Pierre co-directed the four movies in the Despicable Me franchise – including the first Minions movie – and is also directing Minions & Monsters.
Pierre records several different dubs of the Minion voices to better appeal to local markets, varying local words depending on which country it is for.
