The release date for the much-anticipated Venom 3 has changed again – and has been brought forward to October 25. Sony Pictures has also revealed the title of the third instalment of the franchise.
Venom 3, which will officially be known as Venom: The Last Dance, has had several changes to its release date in recent months. It was first slated for release in October, but that was brought forward to July. However, when the Hollywood strikes took place, the release was shunted back to November 8, but now it has been brought forward two weeks to October 25.
Tom Hardy will again reprise his role as journalist Eddie Brock, who has the symbiote Venom living inside him (sometimes), with Kelly Marcel writing and directing the third part, having written the script for Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
However, specifics of the plot of the film are being kept under wraps. It has been speculated that the film will pick up directly after Eddie/Venom’s appearance in the end credit sequence of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Eddie, hiding out in Mexico, gets dragged back to his own universe at the same time as the other Spider-Man villains are returned to theirs. But where he goes from that is unclear – it could mean another multiverse adventure with Venom joining the MCU – as Deadpool does in the upcoming Deadpool vs Wolverine. Or not, we don’t know.
What we do know is that Juno Temple (best known for appearing in Ted Lasso) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Karl Mordo in Doctor Strange) are joining the cast for this outing of Venom.
Temple also said last month that filming was close to finishing. This means it will be entering the editing phase and a trailer should be forthcoming in the summer.
