- Woman complained about her order from McDonald’s then allegedly shot at drive-thru window
- Arrest came after analysis of video surveillance footage identified alleged perpetrator’s tattoos
- No employees were physically injured in the incident

A woman from Texas has been arrested after allegedly firing eight shots at the drive-thru window of a branch of McDonald’s after a dispute over an order turned violent.
Samantha Anthony, 32, from San Antonio, allegedly fired the shots in the incident on December 30, 2023 from her car into the drive-thru window where employees were working, according to the arrest warrant affidavit. Fortunately, no employees were injured.
Argument ensued
The incident began when Anthony arrived at the outlet near Southwest Side of San Antonio at 5am. She was served her order and then left, only to return 30 minutes later to complain that her order was missing items. An argument then ensued, with some reports saying that employees spotted empty food wrappers in her car. The dispute then escalated, with Anthony allegedly shooting at the drive-thru window.
After the alleged shooting, Anthony fled the scene in her Cadillac.
Recognisable vehicle and tattoos
However, local police were supplied with the surveillance footage from the branch of McDonald’s, and this helped to identify Anthony’s vehicle, as her license plate could be seen, along with recognisable bumper stickers. Likewise, Anthony was identified by the tattoos on her arm, which were clearly visible.
Anthony was arrested on May 16, nearly five months after the alleged incident, and was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. This is a second-degree felony charge that could carry anything from two to 20 years in prison if she is convicted.
Her bond was set at $75,000 and she made bail on the same day as she was arrested.
