- On June 10, Apple announced its new iOS 18 update for its products, including the iPhone
- While some users welcomed the change – which will be fully updated later this year – others found it bizarre
- The Internet just had to do its thing – and it produced some of the best memes of the week

It’s the techy news that we can’t help but geek out on.
And this week, nerds across the globe were in luck, as Apple announced that its iOS 18 update will be coming to our products later this year.
The company – which is the name behind much sought-after items such as the iPhone, iPad and Mac – previewed the new release on June 10.
In a press release, Apple promised ‘the biggest redesign ever of the Photos app, new ways for users to manage their inbox in Mail, Messages over satellite, and so much more’.
As well as better customisation options for the Home and Lock Screens, Apple say that the changes will see photo libraries ‘automatically organized in a new single view’, while the Mail app ‘simplifies the inbox by sorting email into categories using on-device intelligence’.
Users will also be able to communicate over satellite in the Messages app when a cellular or Wi-Fi connection isn’t available.
iOS 18 also introduces Apple Intelligence, the personal intelligence ‘that combines the power of generative models with personal context to deliver intelligence that’s incredibly useful and relevant’.
While that’s all very good, we couldn’t help but be delighted when the announcement from Apple sparked one of our favorite things – Twitter/X memes.
